About the player
Joaquín Moya arrived at Everton de Viña del Mar as the club's first signing for the 2025 season, joining on a free transfer on a contract running to the end of 2026.
Moya made his professional debut at AC Barnechea in 2013 and stayed for five seasons, making around 91 appearances and scoring six goals. The high point came in 2017, when he won the Segunda División title with the club, and he also got a taste of the Primera División during the 2014–15 campaign. In January 2019 he moved to Deportes Melipilla as a free agent, where roughly 79 appearances and a single goal were enough to help the side earn promotion to the top flight in 2020.
His next stop was Deportes Iquique, signed in January 2022. It proved his most productive spell in front of goal, with around 76 appearances and eight goals, and again ended in success: Iquique went up to the Primera División in 2023 and reached the Copa Sudamericana the following year.
Despite that run of team success, Moya has not earned caps for Chile at senior or youth level. He plays as a central or attacking midfielder.
