Higor Matheus Meritão

Higor Meritão made his name at Ferroviária, where he captained the side for four years, and, eventually, a move abroad. Those loans took him to Botafogo-SP and Paraná Clube in the lower divisions before Ferroviária sent him to UNAM in Mexico in 2021. He went on to make close to sixty appearances for the club across two seasons in Liga MX.

His path since has been shaped by loans rather than settled spells: back in Brazil, Goiás took him in 2023, and Criciúma followed in 2024, scoring three times in 31 appearances across the Catarinense state championship and Série A. In January 2025 he ended the cycle of temporary moves by joining CRB outright, and the switch paid off — making 41 appearances and scoring twice in Série B.

Meritão joined Chapecoense on a free transfer from CRB in January 2026, and has already established himself in the side, with 20 appearances and two goals by the middle of the year. He has built his career almost entirely within Brazil's domestic pyramid and in Mexico, without ever being called up by the Brazil national team at any level.
