L. Ayala

Luis María Ayala Bentos was born in Lomas del Mirador, Argentina, but has built his career on the Paraguayan side of the border, holding dual nationality for both countries. He came through the youth ranks at Vélez Sarsfield and started out with the club's reserve side in 2023 before senior football took him elsewhere.

In July 2025, Vélez sent him out on loan to Club Guaraní in Paraguay, where he made a single appearance in the Copa Paraguay before returning to his parent club at the end of the year. That stint proved brief, but it opened the door to a fuller role: in January 2026, Ayala moved on loan again, this time to Sportivo Ameliano, an arrangement due to run until the end of December 2026.

The switch to Sportivo Ameliano has given him the regular football he had been missing. He has made 28 appearances in the Copa de Primera, Paraguay's top division, scoring once and setting up two further goals for teammates. Playing as an attacking midfielder, Ayala has established himself as a fixture in the side rather than a fringe figure, a marked contrast to his solitary outing during the loan spell at Guaraní.

He has yet to feature for any senior national team.
