About the player
Rodrigo Piñeiro came through the youth ranks at Miramar Misiones and made his senior debut there in 2016 before Peñarol picked him up two years later. Rather than throw him straight in, the Montevideo club sent him out on loan to Boston River and Rampla Juniors, and he returned to Danubio in 2020.
In February 2021, Nashville SC signed him from Danubio for a fee reported at around $1.7 million.
He was part of the squad that won the Torneo Betano, Argentina's Primera División title, that year, though his own contribution in the championship campaign was limited to five league appearances. A loan to Everton in Chile followed in 2025, and by 2026 he had moved on again, to América Mineiro in Brazil.
At youth level, Piñeiro has represented Uruguay at Under-20 level.
