Olten Women

HV Olten spend this campaign in the 1. Liga, the second tier of Swiss women's handball, pushing again for a return to the top-flight Premium League.

The women's section traces back to the Damen Hockey Club Olten, set up in 1972 by Margaretha Therese Wyss-Zaugg and others before folding into HC Olten two decades later. The handball team kept the town's identity anyway: Dreitannenstädterinnen , the women of the Three Firs Town, is what supporters still call them.

Between the ends of that history sit the club's biggest nights indoors. HV Olten took the Swiss Indoor Championship as DHC Olten back in 1979, then waited until 2006 for the next one, and until 2024 for the one after that.

Stéphanie Weber wears the captain's armband, with Ursina Fazis holding the goal behind her. On derby weekends the away end fills with noise from Solothurn: the Kantonsderby against TV Solothurn is the fixture that decides bragging rights in the canton.

Home games are played out in white and dark blue at the Stadthalle Kleinholz.
