The club's best finish in the Latvian Handball Higher League came in 2013-14, when it took silver, and a bronze followed two seasons later in 2015-16.

The club traces back to 1964, though what plays today under the ONSC/HK Ogre name has passed through several identities along the way, including spells as HKOgre/Miandum and Ogre/RSU. For one season, 2008-09, the team stepped outside Latvia altogether and competed in the Belarusian Extraliga before returning to domestic competition.

Blue and white remain the club's colours throughout those changes of name.

Home games are played at the ONSC sporta halle in Ogre, a hall built around an oak floor and seating just 260.
