FFC Vorderland was founded on 28 March 2012 as an independent women's club, and it was Vorderland, not Altach, that won the 2. Frauenliga in 2016/17 and went up to the top flight. In 2021 the two clubs formed a Spielgemeinschaft — a joint team registered as SPG SCR Altach / FFC Vorderland. That arrangement ended on 1 July 2024, when FFC Vorderland was absorbed into SCR Altach outright. The side now plays as SCR Altach (Frauenfußball).

The championship has not come, nor has the cup, though the 2025/26 run took them as far as the ÖFB-Frauen-Cup final before it stopped there.
