Rumlang/Unterstrass Women

The Dreifachhalle Blumenfeld holds 250 spectators.

The handball side of TV Unterstrass dates to March 1935, decades after the parent club itself formed in 1864, and its honours from that earlier era belong to a different game altogether: the Swiss Field Handball Championship in 1961 and the Field Handball Cup in 1949 and 1959. The joint women's team now playing at Blumenfeld carries none of those titles forward, but it has built its own, smaller record, taking the regional Zürich Cup in 2019 and again in the 2023/24 season.

Squad turnover has brought in players with experience above the 2. Liga level, including a goalkeeper who came through the top flight at HSC Kreuzlingen and forwards who played SPL2 handball at LC Brühl, a class of experience that shows against the likes of SG Volketswil/Witikon and the Albis Foxes, the two clubs that give Rumlang/Unterstrass its sharpest local contests. Seraina Gujan, Nora Wacker and Aline Petitjean have carried the current squad through those meetings, played out in blue and white in front of a crowd that rarely stretches the Blumenfeld hall to its 250-seat limit.
