1. divisjon (Norway) 2026/27

The Norwegian 1. divisjon, currently branded as HockeyLiga1, stands as the second-highest tier of ice hockey in Norway. Situated below the Elitehockeyligaen and above the 2. divisjon, it operates under the authority of the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation (Norges Ishockeyforbund). While the name "1. divisjon" originally designated the top tier from 1961 to 1990, the current second-tier entity was formally established in 1990 when the top league was renamed Eliteserien.

The league currently consists of eight teams, including Comet, Gjøvik, Grüner, Kongsvinger, Manglerud, and Ringerike. The regular season follows a quadruple round-robin format, where each team plays every other team four times—twice at home and twice away—resulting in 35 games per team. Promotion to the Elitehockeyligaen is not automatic for the regular season winner. Instead, the top four teams enter a promotion playoff. The semi-finals are best-of-five series, and the final is a best-of-seven series. The winner of the final earns direct promotion.

Relegation involves the bottom two teams entering a qualification series against the top teams from the 2. divisjon to determine who remains in the 1. divisjon. Lørenskog is the most successful club in the league's history with seven titles. The reigning champion for the 2025/26 season is Ringerike, who defeated Gjøvik in the promotion final to earn promotion to the Elitehockeyligaen for the 2026/27 season. The league serves as a key development platform for U20 players and clubs with lower budgets compared to the top tier, which requires a strict financial license.
