Lørenskog Ishall dates from 1984 and holds 2,450. It sits in Lørenskog, a town in the Romerike region east of Oslo, and has been home ice since a group of young men formed the club on 21 December 1963.

The league title and the NM-Cup have both eluded it; two cup finals, in 2011–12 and 2015–16, ended the same way, beaten by Stavanger Oilers. Promotion has been the club's recurring story instead: the 1. Divisjon was won in 2006–07 and 2007–08, taking LIK into the top flight in 2008, and the pattern repeated after relegation. Financial trouble cost the club its licence in 2018 and sent it down to the 2. Divisjon, but LIK won that division in 2018–19 and the 1. Divisjon the following season before the campaign was cancelled with the club sitting first, and the return to the top tier followed in 2020. A further relegation came after 2025–26.

The club briefly tested continental competition too, taking part in the Champions Hockey League in 2016.
