Taborsko came away from Beneshov with a 1-0 victory in the Round of 128 of the Cup on Wednesday evening. The away side took the lead in the 20th minute through J. Barac's goal, and held on despite a chaotic second half that saw both teams reduced to ten men.
The decisive moment came early. Barac found space and finished clinically, giving the visitors the advantage they needed. To be fair, Beneshov had chances to respond, but the visitors' defence held firm when it mattered.
By then, the game had gone off the rails. O. Maca was sent off in the 77th minute for the hosts, and M. Poturnay followed in the 80th for Taborsko. Three red cards between them, and what looked like a straightforward away win turned into a scrap.
Taborsko edged the statistics line — 72 attacks to 61, 11 corners to 4. Both sides shared possession evenly at 50 per cent, but the visitors were sharper in front of goal with five shots on target compared to Beneshov's three. Five shots off target for Taborsko showed they were still looking for a second that never came.
The result sends Taborsko into the next round while Beneshov's Cup hopes are over. For the hosts, it's a difficult one to take after creating more than enough chances to make the difference. Taborsko showed enough composure to get over the line, even if the finish was anything but elegant.
