Piteå beat Växjö 2-0 in the Damallsvenskan regular season match on 5 September. The result keeps the hosts eighth with 22 points while Växjö remain 11th on 17 points. Both sides had played 17 games by then.
Sharon Sampson opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Asla Johannesen double the lead a few minutes later, the ball in the net in the 40th minute. Between the two goals Piteå kept knocking on the door, winning nine corners to Växjö's two.
