Avangard Edge Metallurg 3-2 in Overtime, End Unbeaten Run
Dmitri Rashevsky leveled it late before Andrew Poturalski struck in overtime as Avangard stunned previously unbeaten Metallurg 3-2 in the KHL.
Avangard came from behind to beat Metallurg 3-2 in overtime, handing the Magnitogorsk side their first defeat of the KHL season.
Omsk levelled at 2-2 on the 56th minute through Forward Dmitri Rashevsky. Forward Andrew Poturalski settled it two minutes into overtime.
It was only Avangard's second win of the campaign. They had beaten Sochi 4-1 earlier on, then lost 0-4 to Salavat Yulaev.
Metallurg arrived unbeaten, having edged Ak Bars 3-2 on a shootout and beaten Amur twice, 4-2 and then 2-1 in overtime.
The result leaves Metallurg 2nd in the Eastern Conference table, with Avangard down in 7th.
