Andrew

Andrew joined Botafogo's academy at the age of nine, in 2011, and spent a decade coming through the club's youth ranks. A loan to Maranhão in 2020 brought no first-team football, and the following year he left Brazil altogether, signing for Gil Vicente in Portugal.

That move became the making of him. An injury to Kritsyuk opened the door, and Andrew took the goalkeeper's jersey and kept it. Over four and a half seasons he made 124 appearances for the Portuguese club, enough to make him the second-most capped goalkeeper in its history.

The performances in Portugal drew Flamengo's interest, and in January 2026 the Rio club paid Gil Vicente €1.5 million for him, agreeing a deal that runs to the end of 2029 and includes a 10% sell-on clause for the Portuguese side. He wears the number 42 shirt.

Andrew was called up to Brazil's under-18 side in 2019, and later won gold with the under-23s at the 2023 Pan American Games, though his only cap at that level came in a debut against Honduras that October. He turned down a place in the squad for the 2024 pre-Olympic tournament.

Since arriving at Flamengo, Andrew has already added silverware to his career: the Campeonato Carioca and the Troféu do Algarve, both in 2026.
