Agustín Rossi

Rossi began as a midfielder in Chacarita Juniors' academy before a coach, Carlos Leba, moved him into goal. He made his professional debut for the club in the 2014 Copa Argentina and, the following year, joined Estudiantes for around 500,000 euros, debuting in the Primera División in April 2015. A loan spell at Defensa y Justicia followed before Boca Juniors signed him in early 2017 for 1.4 million euros. He won the Argentine title in his first season there, and later added the Copa Argentina and the Liga Profesional title. In between, loans took him to Deportes Antofagasta in Chile and to Lanús.

In 2023, after a brief loan spell at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Rossi signed a pre-contract with Flamengo, joining the Brazilian club that July once his deal with Boca expired. He has since become a fixture of the side that has swept domestic silverware in Rio de Janeiro: the Copa do Brasil in 2024, back-to-back Rio state championships in 2024 and 2025, and the Brazilian Super Cup in 2025.

His form through 2025 stood out even by that standard. Rossi was named the best goalkeeper of the Brasileirão for the month on four separate occasions during the year — in May, July, September and October — a run that marked him as one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the competition that season.

At youth level, Rossi was part of the Argentina under-20 side that won the South American championship in 2015. He has not featured for the senior national team and was left out of the squad for the 2024 Copa América.
