KHL Vice-President Dobrokhvalov Rejects Foreign Player Limit

Sergei Dobrokhvalov says the KHL will not tighten its five-import limit, arguing that facing top foreign players helps young Russian talent develop.

Sergei Dobrokhvalov, vice-president of the Fonbet KHL Championship, says the league will not tighten its limit on foreign players.

The current rule allows five import players in a club's matchday roster. Vladimir Yurzinov Sr had proposed cutting that to three.

Dobrokhvalov's answer is that the opposite is true: facing players trained in other systems, he argues, is part of what develops young talent rather than something that blocks it.
