Jessica Campbell Joins New Jersey Devils Staff
The NHL's first full-time female coach leaves the Seattle Kraken to become player development manager for the New Jersey Devils.
The 34-year-old Canadian left the Seattle Kraken in April, when her contract as an assistant to head coach Dan Bylsma expired. She had held that role since 2024 and, in that spell, became the first woman to hold a full-time coaching post on an NHL club's staff.
Campbell's path into the Kraken organisation began in July 2022, when she joined the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Seattle's AHL affiliate, as an assistant coach. She spent two seasons in that post before her promotion to Bylsma's staff. She has also worked with the Germany men's national team.
As a player, Campbell won silver with Canada at the 2015 World Championship. Her coaching career started in 2022.
