Cherkas: Kaprizov Must Earn His New Contract
Ex-SKA coach Sergei Cherkas says Kirill Kaprizov faces pressure to deliver after signing an eight-year, $17M cap-hit deal with Minnesota Wild.
Sergei Cherkas, formerly head coach of SKA, has set out what he expects from Kirill Kaprizov this season after the Minnesota Wild forward signed an eight-year deal with a cap hit of $17 million.
"It will not be easy for Kaprizov. Everyone expects serious results from him, because that huge contract he has been given has to be earned. Kirill will not be able to simply rack up his own points. Now he needs, as they say, to play for himself and for the other guy too," said Cherkas.
