SKA agent Dementyev pleased by team's play in strong start

SKA have won 5 of their first 6 games of the 2026/27 season and sit third in the Western Conference. Agent Alexei Dementyev says the play matches the results.

"I can say definitively that it is not only the result that pleases, but the team's play itself," Dementyev said. "SKA play productively, with control of the puck and a quick transition from defence to attack. Such coordinated actions. And the changes to the roster made over the summer are noticeable, and we see the result."

He was then asked whether the players understand what Larionov wants, given that the coaching staff has been renewed. "The result speaks for itself, in my view," Dementyev said.

If the summer changes are what he says they are, the early run may owe more to the new roster than to a fast start. Six games is a small sample, though, and the conference table will say more once the schedule thickens.
