Sochi End Losing Run With 6:3 Win Over Salavat Yulaev
Guskov and Petukhov each scored three points and Akhiyarov added four assists as Sochi snapped a four-game skid in the KHL.
Sochi beat Salavat Yulaev 6:3 to end a four-match losing run in the KHL's Fonbet Championship.
It was only the club's second win of the season. Matvei Guskov (1+2) and Yegor Petukhov (2+1) finished with three points each, while Timur Akhiyarov added four assists.
Sochi, coached by Andrei Mironov, remain 11th in the Western Conference with four points from 10 games. Salavat Yulaev sit 4th in the East on 13 points from 10 matches.
Ufa's season has already taken one turn: the club parted with goalkeeper Ilya Konovalov by mutual agreement earlier this month, two days after he conceded seven goals in a 5:8 defeat to Barys.
A win of this margin may ease the pressure on Mironov's side after four straight defeats, though Sochi's tally of four points after 10 rounds still leaves them with ground to make up in the West.
