About the player
When Anto Grgić arrived at FC Sion on loan from VfB Stuttgart in January 2018, he found the football he needed: 19 appearances and two goals in that first half-season, enough to have the loan extended and then made permanent in May 2019. What followed was the most productive spell of his career. Over five seasons at Sion he made 180 appearances and scored 30 goals, becoming a regular presence in a side he helped carry for long stretches, with his best return coming in 2020–21, when he scored nine league goals in a single campaign.
Grgić's path started at FC Zürich, where he came through the academy and made his senior debut in the 2015–16 season. He was on the pitch for the club's Swiss Cup triumph that year, sent on in the final at the 20th minute.
Sion's relegation brought that chapter to a close, and Grgić moved on a free transfer to FC Lugano in 2023, where he now plays.
