About the player
Aurelio Oehlers made his professional debut for Jong FC Utrecht in the Eerste Divisie on 19 December 2020, aged 16, and scored his first professional goal the following April. He had come through Ajax's academy after starting out at ASC Waterwijk and Sporting Almere. Oehlers stayed with Jong FC Utrecht until the summer of 2024, when he joined FC Volendam on a free transfer.
He settled quickly at his new club, scoring his first two goals for Volendam in a 4–0 win over TOP Oss on 31 August 2024. Oehlers went on to play a key role in the 2024/25 campaign, in which Volendam won the Eerste Divisie title and secured promotion to the Eredivisie for the 2025/26 season. He left the club before that top-flight campaign began, moving to Swiss Super League side FC Luzern on a contract until 2029; Volendam confirmed receiving a transfer fee, though the amount was not disclosed.
Oehlers has represented the Netherlands at youth level, having earned caps for both the under-15 and under-16 sides, scoring once for the latter.
