About the player
Can Yaha Moustfa was born in Bonn and carries Syrian nationality. He came up through 1. FC Köln and Bonner SC before joining Bayer 04 Leverkusen's youth setup, where he stayed until 2023.
His senior career began away from the elite academies, at FC Cosmos Koblenz, where he scored six goals in 23 appearances in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar in the 2023–2024 season, a campaign that ended in relegation for the club. That form was enough to earn him a free transfer to Energie Cottbus in July 2024. Cottbus sent him out on loan to Rot Weiss Ahlen for the 2024–2025 season, where he again returned six goals, this time in 31 games.
Moustfa came back to Cottbus for the 2025–2026 season, making 27 league appearances and scoring twice as the club won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. He moved on to 1. FC Nürnberg in the summer of 2026, for a fee reported at around 300,000 euros.
At international level, he was part of the Syria squad that finished third at the U23 West Asian Championship in March 2025.
