About the player
Eva Gaetino arrived at Denver Summit FC as a defender. Signed by the NWSL expansion side through the 2028 season, she had spent two years at Paris Saint-Germain, where she made 45 appearances across all competitions and scored once — a strike against BK Häcken in the UEFA Women's Champions League that made her, in March 2024, the youngest American to score in that competition's knockout rounds. She left Paris with a Coupe de France Féminine winner's medal from the 2023–24 season.
Gaetino's path to Paris ran through Notre Dame, where she made 76 appearances for the Fighting Irish between 2020 and 2023, scored six goals and was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, alongside two First-Team All-American selections. Before college, she came up through the Michigan Hawks, winning the ECNL national title with the club in 2017.
Her rise has continued at international level. Gaetino earned her senior debut for the United States on 30 October 2024 in a 3-0 win over Argentina, and was part of the USWNT squad that won the SheBelieves Cup that year. As of October 2025 she held one senior cap.
