About the player
Frederik Lund Gytkjær came up through the club's academy after joining in 2004, following spells in the youth ranks at Jyllinge FC and Ølstykke FC, and made his senior debut for Lyngby in November 2012. In his first spell at the club he scored 23 goals in 90 league appearances and was part of the squad that won the Danish 1st Division in the 2015–16 season.
He left for FK Haugesund on a free transfer in December 2016, spending two seasons in Norway and scoring 11 goals in 41 league matches before the two sides parted by mutual consent in November 2018. He returned to Lyngby as a free agent in January 2019, and that second stint has become the defining chapter of his career: more than 165 league appearances and 52 goals, several contract extensions along the way, with his current deal running to June 2027.
The 2025–26 season brought Lyngby back to the Superliga, with Gytkjær helping the club win the Danish 1st Division title for a second time and sharing the division's top scorer award in the same campaign.
At international level, Gytkjær's caps have come exclusively at youth level for Denmark, across the U16, U17, U18 and U20 age groups.
