About the player
Janine Beckie switched allegiance from the United States youth setup to Canada's senior side in 2014. She has been part of two Olympic podiums with Canada, bronze in Rio and gold in Tokyo, and featured at the 2019 and 2023 World Cups as well as the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship win.
After starting out with Seattle Sounders Women in 2013 while still at Texas Tech, she moved into the NWSL proper with Houston Dash and then Sky Blue FC before joining Manchester City in 2018, where she won two FA Women's Cups and two FA Women's League Cups. She returned to the NWSL with Portland Thorns in April 2022 and won the league championship in her first season there.
In August 2024, Louisville traded for her in a swap that sent Reilyn Turner to Portland, and she spent two seasons with Racing Louisville before Denver Summit, an expansion club, traded for her in January 2026 and signed her through 2028.
Beckie was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy during her college days in 2014 and was nominated for Canadian Player of the Year in 2020.
