Jakob Kindberg

Örebro Syrianska IF was the last stop before Kalmar FF took Kindberg on a free transfer, but it was hardly the start of the road: he had begun playing senior football at IK Sturehov in Division 8, the eighth tier of Swedish football, at the age of 15. At IFK Kumla he made 62 appearances and helped the side win promotion from Division 3 to Division 2. At Karlslunds IF FK he made 71 appearances in Ettan over three seasons. At Örebro Syrianska IF, in Ettan Norra, he made 30 appearances, and in June 2021 Expressen rated him the second-best goalkeeper in the division.

Kindberg joined Kalmar FF in January 2022, again on a free transfer, and made his Allsvenskan debut on 9 October 2022 against IF Elfsborg. He did not become the club's first-choice goalkeeper until 2024. In 2025 he added a Superettan debut with the club, a step that completed an unusual sequence: he has now played in all ten tiers of the Swedish football pyramid, from Division 8 up to Allsvenskan.

That path is the notable thing about his career so far. Every move along the way, from Sturehov through Kumla and Karlslund to Örebro Syrianska and on to Kalmar, was a free transfer, and none of it has yet brought a team trophy or an individual award.
