About the player
Kauan Elias made the trip and stayed, joining the club's youth ranks in 2016 and formally signing forms the following year. He made his senior debut in the Copa Libertadores in May 2023 and went on to make 47 appearances for Fluminense's first team, scoring 8 goals across all competitions.
At youth level with Fluminense he also won the Campeonato Carioca Sub-15 twice, in 2022 and 2023, and the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17 in 2024.
In February 2025, Shakhtar Donetsk paid a base fee of €17 million, with a further €2 million in add-ons, to sign him on a contract running to 2030; Fluminense kept a 10% sell-on clause in the deal. Elias scored in the final as Shakhtar won the Ukrainian Cup in the 2024–25 season, and helped the club to the Ukrainian Premier League title in 2025–26.
He has not yet been called up to Brazil's senior national team.
