Louis Schaub

Schaub came up through the club's academy before stepping into the reserve side, where he scored five goals in 29 appearances for Rapid Wien II. Promoted to the first team in 2012, he racked up 160 appearances and 25 league goals.

The move to 1. FC Köln in 2018 came with a €3.5 million fee, and Schaub helped the club win the 2. Bundesliga that season. His time in Cologne also included loan spells away, first at Hamburger SV, then at FC Luzern for the 2020–21 campaign, where he scored eight goals in 32 games and lifted the Swiss Cup. Two seasons at Hannover 96 followed on a free transfer, yielding eight goals in 54 appearances.

In July 2024, Schaub returned to Rapid Wien, signing a contract running until 2028. Back in familiar surroundings, he has made 38 appearances and scored three goals, and was a key contributor to the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League campaign, setting up a notable goal against Djurgårdens IF. A collateral ligament tear suffered during a January 2025 training camp in Benidorm required surgery and kept him out for several months.

Internationally, Schaub earned 29 caps and scored eight goals for Austria's senior side between 2016 and 2021. He was a regular starter during Austria's qualification campaigns for the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020.
