About the player
Niklas Hedl is a product of Rapid Wien's own academy, having joined the club's youth system in 2007. He worked his way through the ranks at Rapid Wien II between 2018 and 2021, playing in the Austrian Regionalliga and 2. Liga before earning promotion to the senior squad. His breakthrough at first-team level came on 20 February 2022, when he made his Bundesliga debut against Sturm Graz.
He was subsequently called up for Euro 2024 qualifying duty in September 2023.
The following season brought a shorter run in the competition, with the club going out in the round of 16 in 2024–25.
Hedl remains with Rapid Wien, the only club of his senior career.
