Marco Tilio

Marco Tilio scored on his A-League debut for Sydney FC in February 2020, having already made his professional bow in the AFC Champions League the previous year. The goal did not keep him at the club long: he left that September, after six senior appearances, to join Melbourne City.

It was in Melbourne that Tilio built his reputation. He made 70 league appearances and scored 14 goals, was named the club's Rising Star for 2020–21, and picked up back-to-back nominations for the Harry Kewell Medal as the A-League's young player of the year. He also collected three consecutive Premierships with the club, in 2020–21, 2021–22 and 2022–23, along with the Championship in the first of those seasons.

That form took him to Celtic in July 2023, on a five-year deal worth more than $2 million Australian dollars, a fee that broke the Australian outbound transfer record at the time. The move did not work out on the pitch: Tilio made only two senior appearances for the Scottish club before returning to Melbourne City on loan for 2024–25, where he scored six goals in 23 games.

In August 2025 he signed permanently for Rapid Wien for a fee in the region of €1.3–1.5 million. He marked his competitive debut for the Austrian club by scoring in a 4–1 win over WSG Tirol that September, and went on to feature in a UEFA Conference League tie against Lech Poznań.

At international level, Tilio made his senior debut for Australia against Japan in March 2022 and was included in the squad for the World Cup in Qatar that year, coming on as a substitute against Vietnam and Jordan. He has since added an appearance at the Asian Cup, against Uzbekistan.
