Rodrigo Soares

Rodrigo Soares built his career on adaptation, settling into the role of a dependable right-back. He left Brazil early, joining Porto in 2015, but never broke into the first team; his football happened instead with Porto B, where he helped the side win the Portuguese second division, and on loan at Chaves, where he made his top-flight debut in Portugal's Primeira Liga.

The breakthrough came at Aves. Across two seasons there he established himself as a starter, and the club won the Taça de Portugal in 2017/18 with Soares in the side. That run of form carried him to PAOK in Greece in 2019, where he spent time as a regular in the Superleague and eurocups and won the Greek Cup in 2020/21.

His contract with PAOK was terminated in January 2022, and he returned to Brazilian football with Juventude, then moved on to Atlético Goianiense, where he won the Campeonato Goiano in 2023. Two seasons at Grêmio Novorizontino followed, mostly spent in Serie B football.

In December 2025, Soares signed for Goiás as a free agent after his contract at Novorizontino expired, agreeing a deal through the end of the 2026 season. He has since become a regular in the side, appearing in Serie B, the Campeonato Goiano and the Copa do Brasil. In April 2026 he was sent off against Juventude and served a one-match suspension for the following Serie B fixture against Cuiabá.
