Tommi Jyry

Tommi Jyry returned to KuPS in June 2026, in a transfer reported to cost €100,000 and a contract running to the end of the 2027 season. His first spell there had already produced the Veikkausliiga title in 2019, followed by the Finnish Cup in 2021.

Jyry came up through HJK Helsinki's youth ranks before joining HIFK in 2017, making his Veikkausliiga debut against his former youth side that September. HIFK won promotion via the Ykkönen the following year, and Jyry moved on to KuPS on a free transfer in 2019.

After a loan at KuFu-98 in 2021, he joined FC Inter Turku in 2022. His form there was recognised with the Veikkausliiga Player of the Month award in June 2023, and Inter Turku supporters gave him the Anneli Trophy that year for being the club's most hard-working and loyal player.

In February 2024 he left Finland for Romanian football, signing for Petrolul Ploiești, where he made 91 appearances and scored three goals across the 2024 and 2025 seasons before his move back to KuPS.

Jyry's underage international career took him through Finland's U-15 and U-16 sides. In May 2025 he received his first senior call-up, named in the squad for World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Poland, though he is yet to win his first senior cap.
