About the player
The clue to Vasco Moreira's standing at Braga came in the paperwork. In late 2021 the club tied him to a contract carrying a €20 million release clause.
He started out at Dragon Force before joining FC Porto's academy around 2012/2013, staying there until 2017. A short spell at Rio Ave followed the same year, and then came the move to Braga, where he spent seven seasons with the B team. There were no major titles in that time.
The step that changed things was a sideways one on paper. In July 2024 he left on a free transfer for Felgueiras 1932, dropping into Liga Portugal 2, and the season that followed reframed him: the newspaper O Jogo named him the most effective midfielder in the division for 2024/2025.
FC Alverca signed him in January 2026 on a deal running two and a half seasons. The fee was not made public; his market value at the time was put at around €850,000. Since the move he has been noted for his assist numbers in the Liga Portugal.
He has one cap for Portugal at under-19 level.
