Yusuf Demir

Yusuf Demir came through at Rapid Wien, signing his first professional contract in May 2019 and making his debut that December. Over that first spell in Vienna he made 57 appearances, scoring 11 goals and setting up five more.

The Gent goal set up a move to FC Barcelona, who took him on loan in July 2021 for €500,000, with the deal structured so that ten appearances would trigger a mandatory €10 million buy option. Demir made just six official appearances for the club, and Barcelona ended the loan early, in January 2022, without the option being activated. He returned briefly to Rapid Wien before joining Galatasaray in September 2022 for a €6 million fee on a four-year contract, and won the Süper Lig title with the Istanbul club in his first season there.

A loan to FC Basel followed for the 2023–24 season, after which he went back to Galatasaray, where his opportunities in the 2024–25 season were limited to a handful of appearances. In February 2026 he returned to Rapid Wien on a permanent basis.

Demir has represented Austria through the youth ranks, from under-15 to under-21 level, and made his senior debut on 28 March 2021 in a 3–1 World Cup qualifying win over the Faroe Islands.
