About the player
Yuzuki Yamamoto grew up in Gifu Prefecture and moved through the youth ranks at JFC Kakegawa and FC Persimmon before joining Tokyo Verdy Beleza's professional set-up in 2021, skipping the usual high school and university route. She made her WE League debut for the club that September and stayed through 2025, when Beleza's title-winning campaign saw her score eight goals in 22 appearances, win the WE League championship and the WE League MVP award in the same season.
Her rise had already been signalled at youth level, where she scored three goals and set up three more as Japan reached the final of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. A senior call-up followed in 2025, and Yamamoto started for Nadeshiko Japan at the EAFF E-1 Football Championship, where Japan finished third; she picked up an assist in a 4-0 win over Chinese Taipei. In the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup she added a goal and two assists as Japan beat India 11-0.
In March 2026, Yamamoto joined Denver Summit FC on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract through the end of the 2027 season with a mutual option for 2028. The move stood out within the club's recruitment: unlike several other Denver Summit signings that season, hers came without a transfer fee attached.
