Amical Saint-Prex

The factory opened in 1911, and a year later the men who worked there formed a football club to go with it. That is where Amical Saint-Prex began, in 1912.

The club has stayed amateur in the fullest sense. Its accounts run on membership fees and whatever the committee can raise off the pitch, and the coaching staff are paid a token sum for each session, 5 Swiss francs a time. This makes what happened in the 2024-25 season worth noting: Amical Saint-Prex won Group 1 of the 2. Liga Interregional, the country's third or fourth tier depending on the region, and earned promotion to the 1. Liga.

Among those who have passed through the club's coaching setup are men with a professional pedigree, Paulo Diogo and Bernard Brodard among them, though the club has produced no academy graduates of note who went on to make careers in the professional game. Its history is one of modest continuity rather than star names.

Amical still play in red and white, and still play at the Stade de Marcy, a ground that holds 1,000. It is the kind of capacity that suits a club whose business has always been the town itself.
