Bremerhaven

Bremerhaven have spent the years since 2019 outside the top flight, playing in Pro A after the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) refused the club a licence that May over insufficient equity capital. The club that once held its own in the country's elite division now measures itself against Nordderby rivals Artland Dragons and Rasta Vechta a tier below.

The professional side traces back to 1991, when the basketball departments of OSC Bremerhaven and SFL Bremerhaven merged into BSG Bremerhaven. The club as it operates today, run through Eisbären Bremerhaven Marketing GmbH, was set up in 2001 and turned professional in 2003.

Promotion came in 2004–05, when Bremerhaven won the North Division of the 2. Basketball Bundesliga and stepped up to the BBL. Darius Adams, named the BBL's Best Offensive Player in 2014, remains the individual mark most associated with the club's top-flight years.

Home games are played at the Stadthalle Bremerhaven, which holds 3,950 for basketball.
