Kirill Kaprizov pulled on the Bears' jersey twice, in 2013–14 and again in 2015–16. Sergei Bobrovsky and Dmitry Orlov both came through in the club's very first season, 2009–10, when Kuznetskie Medvedi was assembled out of the old Metallurg-2 farm side to take a place among the founding clubs of the Minor Hockey League. Ilya Sorokin followed a few years later, in 2012–13.

That first season also produced the closest the club has come to a title: a run to the Korolov Cup final, lost to Stalnye Lisy. Bronze followed in 2016–17, and in 2023–24 the Bears topped the regular season in the Silver Division of the Eastern Conference.

What the Bears have not managed is a Korolov Cup of their own — the final in that debut season remains as close as the club has got.
