Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa

Herzl Kabilio kept goal for the original Maccabi Jaffa and died of cancer in 1986, aged 35. Fourteen years later, in 2000, the club itself was wound up over financial irregularities, and it was fans of the old side who, in 2007, registered its replacement under his name for the following season. The original had been founded in 1949 by Albert Kiyosso, a Bulgarian Jewish immigrant, and drew chiefly on the city's Bulgarian community — hence the nickname that survives in the new club, The Bulgarians.

Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa is fan-owned, run largely on donations rather than municipal money.

On the pitch, the promotions have come in pairs of years worth remembering: Liga Bet South A in 2019–20, then Liga Alef South two years later, won on a playoff against M.S. Tira. Off it, the derby against Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv carries the old neighbourhood rivalry within Tel Aviv-Jaffa that the club's history has always run on, ahead of the longer-standing enmities with Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The current side sits in the Liga Leumit, the second tier.
