Mhc Spartak Mah

The Ice Palace "Legends of Hockey – Sokolniki" on Sokolnichesky Val holds 1,538 spectators, which suits a junior side. The senior KHL team, HC Spartak Moscow, has the bigger occasions. The junior club, MHK Spartak, is its affiliate and wears the same red-and-white rhombus with an "S" inside.

MHK Spartak was one of the founding members of the Major Junior Hockey League (MHL) in 2009. It lost the 2012/13 final to Omskie Yastreby, then took the Harlam Cup in 2013/14 by beating Krasnaya Armiya 3-2 in a seventh game. The same year it won the World Cup for youth club teams, beating Torpedo Ufa 2-1 in a shootout.

The academy is what the club is best known for. Igor Shesterkin, who came through it, went on to win the Vezina Trophy with the New York Rangers. Alexander Khokhlachev also made his way to the NHL.

Krasnaya Armiya, the junior side of CSKA Moscow, is the rival that matters, and their meetings are called the Moscow Derby. Dynamo Moscow and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl come next.

The second Harlam Cup came in 2025, after the club finished first in the "Golden" Division of the Western Conference. The final against SKA-1946 ended 4-3 in Spartak's favour, but the series was disputed. In Game 4 a puck that had clearly left the ice was allowed to stay in play, and the goal that followed kept SKA-1946 in the series. A mass brawl broke out in Game 6. In May 2025 the club added a second team, MHK Spartak MAH, in the MHL Silver Division. The club has not yet won the Harlam Cup in successive seasons.
