Panevezys Women

Panevėžys is a basketball town by default: the men's side, Lietkabelis, has carried the city's name in the top flight since 1964, and for years there was no women's equivalent to speak of. The previous women's team folded around 2016, and for seven seasons the city's women's basketball existed only in memory before MKK Panevėžys returned to the top-tier Moterų Lietuvos krepšinio lyga in 2023.

The club plays out of the Kalnapilio Arena, shared with Lietkabelis, a ground that can seat up to 5,600 for basketball. MKK also entered the Women's Baltic Basketball League.

On the court, the return has been a hard one. Among the squad, Gabija Meškonytė stands out for the path that brought her to Panevėžys, having started her career at Vilniaus Kibirkštis before joining the rebuilt club.

The club has no separate website or social media of its own, running instead through the league's own pages.
