Rubin Kazan U20

Rubin Kazan U20 play in the Molodezhnaya Futbolnaya Liga, the youth championship attached to Russia's Premier League clubs. They have not featured in the UEFA Youth League in any of the last three seasons.

There is a reason for that gap: Rubin Kazan U20 have no stadium of their own. They train and play at the club's academy base on Kopylov Street, most often on the second pitch of the Rubin complex, which holds just 1,118 spectators. The base once had a main stand for 10,000, but demolition of those stands began in 2024.

The team's best recent run came in August 2017, when seven rounds into the season Rubin-M sat second in the table.

Since 2023 the picture has grown more complicated. That March, Rubin revived a professional farm side, Rubin-2, entered in Russia's Second League and placed under Gökdeniz Karadeniz , once a Rubin player himself, before he left the post in January 2026. Rubin-M, the academy's actual U20 side, carries on its separate life in the MFL — a distinction regularly blurred in local coverage, which lumps the two together.

What the academy is built for shows up best in Danil Stepanov . Loaned to Rotor in the summer of 2020, he moved on to Arsenal Tula the following year, who bought out his contract that December, before a 2023 transfer took him to Khimki.
