Sunnanå SK Women

Hanna Marklund came through the Sunnanå SK youth ranks before she went on to become the first player to win the Diamantbollen, the award for Sweden's best footballer. She was not the only name of note to wear the club's blue and white: Perpetua Nkwocha, named African Footballer of the Year four times, also played for the Skellefteå side, and Hanna Ljungberg's name is tied to the club as well.

The women's section formed in 1974, thirty-five years after the club itself was founded on 5 May 1939. By the early 1980s it stood among the strongest teams in the country: Swedish champions in 1980 and 1982, third in the league in 1981, and winner that year of the Menton Tournament. In 1983 Sunnanå beat Hammarby IF 2–0 to lift the Svenska Cupen; two later finals went the other way, against Öxabäcks IF in 1986 and Malmö FF, in extra time, in 1997.

Sunnanå spent 22 seasons in the top flight. It last played there in 2013, and has since moved between Elitettan and Division 1.
