Vaslui

In 1994, playing as Moldosin Vaslui, the club stepped into European competition for the first time and reached the last 32 of the City Cup before Polnohospodar Topoľčany ended the run. From 1992 to 1999, a team built around captain Leonard Bibirig, alongside Adrian Gavrilă and Gabriel Mardare, held its place in Romania's top division under coaches Paul Popescu and Liviu Gugleș. The Vaslui Synthetic Fibre Plant had taken over sponsorship in 1982, renaming a side founded eight years earlier as Metalul Vaslui by professor Neculai Popa and a group of athletes backed by the Vaslui Mechanical Enterprise.

The name changed again to HC Vaslui, and in 2018 the municipality dissolved that entity and set up the multi-sport club CSM Vaslui in its place. By then the handball section had already climbed back: promoted to the Liga Națională in 2014 after fifteen years away, it won the title in that very first season back, then added a second championship in 2019.

Vasile Cocuz, who took bronze with Romania at the 1990 World Championship, is among the names attached to the club's history. CSM Vaslui plays home matches against CSU Suceava in what is known locally as the Derby de Moldova. The club has never reached the Romanian Cup or the Supercupa României.

Gabriel Benone Armanu now coaches the side, with Bogdan Florea as president.
