Jeddah played out a 2-2 draw with Al-Urubah in the Fourth round of the First Division League on September 9th. The hosts had taken the lead through F. Diedhiou before M. Al Zubaidi equalised for the visitors. By then the match was already showing signs of being a tight affair.
Al-Urubah turned things around in the 49th minute when F. K. Al Sahafi put them ahead. Three substitutions at half-time suggested the visitors were looking for something different, and it paid off. The change gave them the edge going into the second period.
E. C. Ememe restored parity for Jeddah in the 75th minute, and the hosts held on for a point. There were three bookings in total, with Al-Urubah picking up two yellows. To be fair, neither side dominated proceedings for long stretches.
The statistics tell a straightforward story. Al-Urubah edged possession at 51 per cent and registered seven shots on target compared to five for Jeddah. Both sides completed similar numbers of attacks, 118 and 117 respectively. The result reflected the balance of the match.
For Jeddah the draw keeps them in second place with seven points from three games. Al-Urubah remain in 16th position on two points, but they extended their unbeaten run away from home. The hosts had won their previous two matches before this stalemate.
