Krka claimed their first league victory of the Second SNL season with a 2-0 home win against Jesenice in the fifth round of the regular season on Saturday. The result lifts the hosts off the bottom of the table, while Jesenice drop further from their mid-table position.
The opening moment came early, with S. Opacic finding the net in the fourteenth minute. And here's the thing — it wasn't a fluke, but a well-worked move that exposed Jesenice's defensive hesitation. The visitors struggled to establish rhythm after that, and the pressure told.
For the next twenty minutes or so, Krka controlled the tempo without adding to their advantage. Jesenice tried to respond but found themselves turned over in possession too often. To be fair, the home side's defence held its shape, denying any clear-cut opportunities.
The second breakthrough arrived in the sixty-fourth minute through H. Kujabi, and by then the match was effectively settled. Jesenice had spent the intervening period chasing the game, and the goal confirmed what the scoreboard already suggested.
Krka move up to fourteenth place with four points from five games, having finally ended their winless run. Jesenice remain eighth with seven points, though their recent form — three defeats in their last three league matches — offers little comfort.
