Kruger United lost 0:2 to Durban City in the Premier Social League's Regular Season round 4 on Monday evening. The visitors took all three points with goals from Jean Lwamba and Gastón Sirino, leaving the hosts rooted to the bottom of the table.
Lwamba gave Durban City the lead in the seventh minute, a quick finish that caught Kruger United's defence still settling into the game. The home side had possession but struggled to turn it into anything meaningful in those opening moments.
By then the yellow cards were already stacking up — Ntsako Makhubela and Ebrahim Seedat both picked up bookings before the interval. And here's the thing about the twenty-minute mark: Kruger United were making passes but not progressing them forward, three crossed balls going nowhere.
Sirino doubled the advantage in the fiftieth minute, finishing off a move that had been building since the restart. The home goalkeeper was called into action four times in total but could do little to prevent another goal.
Both sides made several changes in the second half, with Durban City bringing on their goalscorer Sirino in the sixty-second minute. Kruger United tried to respond with fresh legs, substituting multiple players between the seventy-seventh and ninetieth minutes.
The statistics told a familiar story — Kruger United had 53 per cent possession and twelve shots to Durban City's ten, but only managed three big chances against three as well. Shots accuracy was 30 per cent for the hosts compared to 55 per cent for the visitors.
Kruger United remain sixteenth on one point from five games, while Durban City move up to sixth with six points. The visitors have now gone five matches unbeaten with one win and four draws.
