Ödeholm beat Helsingborgs 3:1 in the Superettan's Regular Season round 20 on 23 August. L. Shahin scored twice for the hosts, while A. Johansson's goal gave Helsingborgs hope before Shahin added a third late on. The result keeps Ödeholm above Helsingborgs in the table despite both sides having played 21 matches.
Shahin gave Ödeholm an early lead in the fourth minute and doubled it six minutes later. Helsingborgs responded through Johansson in the 20th minute, but the visitors could not regain momentum after that. By then Ödeholm had already established control of the tempo, and the second half only confirmed what the first half had shown.
Shahin completed his brace in the 79th minute, and the visitors had little to offer after that. Helsingborgs had 63 per cent possession but managed only two shots on target compared to Ödeholm's 12. And here's the thing — efficiency matters more than territory when you're defending deeper, and Ödeholm made their chances count.
Both sides received three yellow cards, with Helsingborgs' Johansson and Albin booked in the 55th minute. Ödeholm saw Sandberg, Awodesu and Forsberg cautioned across the 90 minutes. The hosts made substitutions through Iglicar Berntsson, Krezic, Amadou and Awodesu, while Helsingborgs brought on Forsberg and Djoro near the end.
Ödeholm remain eighth with 29 points, three ahead of Helsingborgs in tenth place. The hosts had drawn their last two games against Eskilstuna and Landskrona before winning this one, while Helsingborgs lost their previous away fixture 2:0 at Norrköping. To be fair, both teams have won seven games this season, but Ödeholm's eight draws give them the edge.
