The match itself offered little in the way of clear chances, which is fair enough given the statistics. Taegu dominated possession at 59 per cent and registered 112 attacks, yet they could only muster three shots on target. Paju Citizens managed 78 attacks with two shots on target between them. And here's the thing — neither side could convert their efforts.
The turning point came late on, when Hwang Jae-Won received his second yellow card in the 90th minute plus two. By then the game had already settled into its pattern, but the red card changed the complexion of the final moments. Taegu made two substitutions at 90 plus five, bringing on Cesinha and Kim Dae-Woo to see out the remaining minutes.
Both teams made changes throughout the second half, though Taegu's triple substitution at the interval suggested they wanted to impose themselves more aggressively. Paju Citizens made a single change at 11 minutes, bringing on J. Bonilla, and then another round at 79 minutes with Lee Jea-Ho and Lee Joon-Suk. To be fair, neither side looked particularly dangerous in the final third.
The result extends Taegu's recent run of mixed results. They had won their previous five matches before this draw, including victories against Ansan Gyeongnam and Asan Mugunghwa. Paju Citizens, meanwhile, showed resilience by holding on despite being reduced to ten men. Their last five games have produced two wins and two draws, suggesting they are finding form at the right time.
